Accessibility
Last updated October 27, 2026
Everyone in a service department should be able to use Pit Lane, whatever device, screen or assistive technology they use. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
What we’ve done
- Keyboard: everything can be reached with the keyboard. A Skip to content link comes first, focus is always visible, and Ctrl K opens search from anywhere.
- Screen readers: buttons, fields and icons have proper names, and dialogs announce themselves.
- Contrast: text meets the 4.5 : 1 contrast ratio, and colour is never the only signal. Urgent items also say so in words.
- Size and zoom: Pit Lane works from a phone up to a wide screen and at 200% browser zoom. On phones, buttons are at least 44 pixels tall.
- Motion and themes: animations stop if your device asks for reduced motion, and there is a dark theme in Settings.
Known limitations
- [The day timeline and report charts are visual. The same information is in the lists, tables and Excel exports.]
- Pit Lane hasn’t yet had an independent accessibility audit. [Planned for (date).]
